It’s no secret that food is a major aspect in my life, and I’m sure yours too. So why is it that many of us have made food into our enemy instead of our greatest resource?
I launched my ebook on Intuitive Eating yesterday, and I’ve found that food can sometimes be the biggest block in our lives. It can turn into somewhat of a weapon we use against ourselves, or a crutch we lean on. But that isn’t the way that food is supposed to be interacted with, it is unnatural for us to hate food.
Food is supposed to be utilized for our wellbeing, it’s supposed to light us up and fuel us to achieve our greatest potential. Throughout my life I have always seen food as a resource, something that gives me life and helps me to live whole day-to-day. I’ve been lucky to have developed this mindset early, but I know that many of you have not been, so today I wanted to share my story and share why you should see food as your greatest resource. I’ll also be sharing my Intuitive Eating ebook with you, a resource that I’ve developed to help you find freedom in food.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s jump right in!
Food: A Love Story
I have to say, food is one of my favorite things in this life. It’s delicious, beautiful and packed full of nutrients that my body couldn’t get anywhere else. I mean, how great is it to have access to the healing elements of nature 24/7, and have it taste good? Am I right?
This isn’t to say that I haven’t ever struggled with food or that I’m always perfect in how I eat. There are days where I accidentally overeat or I realize I’ve eaten for an emotional reason instead of actually wanting the food. Sometimes I even forget to eat, especially when I’m really busy. But I know how to get back into alignment, I know how to get back to a healthy place. I listen to my body, I listen to my intuition, and I’m able to return to a place of peace with food.
The struggles and the mess-ups are all part of this beautiful journey, but I think the return is the best part. When you return to this natural, healthy relationship with food and utilize all that it can give you, your body feels amazing. So it’s no surprise I fell in love with food, and the journey that it has taken me on is something I am so grateful for.
Utilizing The Nutrients in Food
One of the best things that has happened to my relationship with food is actually utilizing its nutrients. When I was diagnosed with PCOS, I knew exactly where to turn for relief of my symptoms: Food. Your diet affects 90% of how you feel in your body, and it’s the easiest way to get back on track during a slump.
Once I realized that I could use food to help heal and nourish my body, I realized just how powerful it was. This resource is amazing, and I’m happy that it’s here to help us live lives we love.
Your Perspective is Everything
One of the greatest things that I feel my ebook teaches is how to cultivate a healthy perspective around food. This means learning to see food as good, and all food as good. It doesn’t mean it is always good for you, or that it is right for your body, because you get to decide that. But it does mean that you see all food as nourishment, a way to be well, and you get to be creative and listen to your body to see which foods are best for you.
When you learn to see food in this way, you’re able to experience freedom and peace during meals because you have a healthy perspective. For me, perspective is everything and it’s been one of the main factors in practicing intuitive eating and knowing that food is my greatest resource, it is something good and something to be utilized. So in order to use food as your greatest resource, you must first change your mindset to see the possibilities of food and how it can be utilized.
