Finding your purpose is a journey. If you clicked on this article, you may be unsure about your direction in life, looking for reassurance about your path, or hoping to go inward to see what you want in life.

These questions can help to give you clarity on your life purpose, what you want in life, and how you can incorporate more joy into your days.

Let's get started:

How to Prepare

These questions can be thought-provoking, so you may want to grab a notebook or get into a quiet space before you answer. If you find that you don't know the answer to a question, that's okay, just give it time and come back to it.

There's no right or wrong answer, but the answers you do give will help lead you to your purpose, and know that it might change over time and that's okay too, you have a right to want what you want in life and that often fluctuates as you grow.

Once you've got a journal or you're officially in #deepthought mode, here are a few questions to ask yourself:

What lights me up inside?

This is the single most important question to ask yourself when you are looking to find your purpose and have more joy in life.

If you aren't doing things that bring you joy, how do you expect to actually be happy in life?

You were made to do the things that light you up inside, even if it isn't your day job. This is when you shine, and the world needs people like you to light up and serve the way that only you can.

What are my values?

I've talked about Chani Carroso many times before on the blog, but I have to say that checking in with your values is an important way to gauge how your life is going and what you can do to increase your joy.

When I wrote down my values following this video, I felt like I had tapped into a well within, and that I had connected what I most wanted in life, which helped me to add more of what I want into my day and take out the things that were no longer serving me.

Getting clear on your values provides you with direction and gives you a vision for the future.

What am I doing now that no longer serves me?

There are many times in life where we need to do an overhaul of what we have that we no longer want and let go of the things that are no longer serving us.

There's no shame in letting go of what doesn't serve you, it gives you room to grow and give yourself more of what you do want in life. By clearing out the clutter in life, you begin to see how you want to structure your days and how you can have more joy on the daily.

Who do I want to become?

Have you ever visualized who you would be if you had everything you ever wanted in life? The perfect job, the confident demeanor, that chic apartment that you've been secretly dreaming about?

What you daydream about is important, because it shows you what you want more of in your life and the actions that you can take to get there. That doesn't mean that everything will be that way instantly, or that it will look like how you want it to look like, however it does show you what you can do right now to have more happiness.

So pay attention to the future you, the girl who lives her life with style and grace, the one who you'd be jealous of if it wasn't you. She is you already, and there are things you can do to live more like her and therefore get more joy in your every day.
